Job Description

  • We are looking for a Mechanical Shift in Charge – Power Plant to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. As a Mechanical Shift in Charge, he/she will be accountable for the Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant and down time.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure trouble-free operation of all Power Plant equipment by adopting the Preventive /predictive maintenance of the equipment in your shift.
  2. Maintaining and ensure all types of equipment of the plant under and achieving the Power Generation as per the target by adopting and initiate necessary action and corrective measures.
  3. Maintains the history cards of the equipment in the sections entrusted and keeps the track of maintenance activities attended.
  4. Executes the jobs informed by the operation team in the shift entrusted for smooth operation of the plant.
  5. Shall report to the Shift Mechanical in charge Power Plant any events of Mechanical Equipment’s complications.
  6. Accountable for the adoption of SOP during operation & maintenance
  7. Synchronize with Process department and Sugar Mill for seamless operation.
  8. Plant and ensure Execution Servicing and maintenance of the Power plant equipment during off crop period.
  9. Prepares the annual expenditure budget for his/her section and analyze the variance (Budget Vs Actual) & imitate necessary effective control system.
  10. Maintaining and ensure the safety in all activities of operation and Maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Higher National Diploma (HND) required.
  • Certificate in Boiler Operating Engineers (BOE) required.
  • Preferred professional qualifications: COREN, NSE, or related certification.
  • 7-10 years of experience in any Power Plant, with preference for Bagasse Based Power plant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in operating Travelling Grate Boilers with Bagasse as Fuel. Minimum pressure rating of 87 Bar.
  • Experience in Back Pressure and Condensing Turbines.
  • Experience in Fuel and Ash Handling System.
  • Proficiency in Boiler and Turbine DCS Automation Operation.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
