Job Description

  1. Benel Energy Resources Limited is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team.
  2. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within our facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  2. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  3. Coordinate with vendors for mechanical and electrical parts.
  4. Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
  5. Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical components such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and valves.
  6. Utilize precision tools and instruments to measure, cut, weld, and fabricate mechanical parts as needed.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with industry standards.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and maintenance personnel as required.
  10. General Services and facility maintenance.
  11. Stay informed about advancements in mechanical technology and best practices to enhance job performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Job Requirements

  1. OND / HND qualification or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.
  4. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  5. Hands-on experience with precision tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
  10. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with established procedures and regulations.
