Job Position: Mechanical Technician, Mfamosing Plant

Job Location: Mfamosing, Cross River

Job Description

  • Role holder is responsible for ensuring that the plant equipment is well maintained at optimum cost and ensuring completion and quality of the execution of maintenance jobs.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the maintenance and well being of the relevant equipment
  2. Record some possible anomalies observed on the equipment during maintenance or inspection.
  3. Monitor the time requirements for each job and the optimal manpower and skills necessary for executing jobs.
  4. Supervise the trial of equipment after maintenance.
  5. Ensure that proper safety measures are being adhered to at all times by all personnel.
  6. Responsible for scheduled inspection of tools and tackles (including safety tools and tackles) and ensuring that these are in optimal condition of safe use.
  7. Responsible for recording of daily/shift job activities.
  8. Manage people working under him.
  9. Monitor job duration, cost and performance of crew.
  10. Recommend improvements for cost reductions.
  11. Respond to emergency repair needs.
  12. Work with the planning in the development of job planning.
  13. Ensure productive use of the crew.
  14. Specify work procedures if required.
  15. Monitor and controls overtime.
  16. Ensure safe storage and disposal of replaced spares.
  17. Comply with EMS Mechanical Instrumentation activities.
  18. Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the Plant.

Interactions:

  • Methods department for preparation, planning and generation of work orders.

Job Context:

  1. The work environment of the job is the Cement Plant and the Quarry
  2. Job with a medium safety risk.

  1. Optimization of spares utilization
  2. Maintenance programs carried out on time.

Job Requirements

  • OND in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years hands-on experience in a process industry
  • 3/5 years experience in industrial process
  • Knowledge of work and safety rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment
  • Hands-on experience on the equipment
  • Knowledge of relevant software.
