Job Position: Medical Laboratory Technician
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Role Summary
Medbury Healthcare Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join its Diagnostics Department.
The ideal candidate will assist in carrying out laboratory investigations, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery of test results that support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Ensure proper collection, labelling, and handling of specimens.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of test results and communicate findings promptly.
- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Support inventory management by ensuring an adequate stock of reagents and consumables.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of test results and reports.
- Compliance with laboratory quality standards.
- Equipment maintenance and uptime.
- Turnaround time for test results.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of OND in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Must be a licensed member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- 1 – 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in a clinical or diagnostic setting.
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Sound knowledge of laboratory instruments and procedures.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good record-keeping and data entry skills.
- Strong adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Behavioural Competencies:
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Organised and able to work effectively under pressure.
Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 / month
