Job Position: Network Administrator

Job Location: Ikeja, GRA, Lagos

Job Description

  • To maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communication network.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, security and peripheral devices.
  2. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  3. Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
  4. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  5. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  6. Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  7. Familiarity with enterprise network management solutions e.g. SolarWinds, Flowmon, PTRG etc
  8. Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
  9. Keep an eye out for needed updates
  10. Support and administer third-party applications
  11. Ensure network security and connectivity
  12. Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
  13. Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
  14. Resolve problems reported by end user
  15. Define network policies and procedures
  16. Specify system requirements and design solutions
  17. Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
  18. Troubleshoot server and server application issues

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc Degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
  2. Any additional relevant certification (Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE), MCSA will be considered an added advantage.

Cognate Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as a network administrator in an enterprise or ICT service company.

Required Skills:

  1. Proven experience in a network administrator role
  2. Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  3. In depth Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  4. Applicable Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  5. Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  6. Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  7. Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
  8. Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training
  9. Communication skills
  10. Time management
  11. Team collaboration
