Job Position: Operation Foreman
Job Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Job Responsibilities
Chemical Handling:
- Handle and oversee the safe use of chemicals such as ammonium nitrate, acetic acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium nitrite, and SMO during production processes.
- Ensure accurate measurements and proper blending of chemical components to maintain product quality.
Quality Control:
- Monitor process parameters and make necessary adjustments to maintain product specifications and quality.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and rectify any deviations or anomalies in the production process.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and operating equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and participate in safety drills to maintain a secure working environment.
Team Supervision:
- Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians, providing training and guidance on process operations and safety practices.
- Coordinate shifts and allocate tasks to ensure smooth production and workflow continuity.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Oversee routine maintenance of equipment and promptly address mechanical or operational issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production data, chemical usage, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and submit reports on production, safety incidents, and operational improvements.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field (Preference to Chemical Engineering).
- Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience with the above responsibilities.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling and production.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Encourages innovative ideas and adopts best practices to improve overall plant performance
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of process equipment operation, including oxidizer blend reactors, fuel blend reactors, screw feeders, and jet mixers.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands, unexpected equipment failures, or process modifications.
