Job Position: Operations Analyst

Job Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Description

  1. An Operations Analyst in a micro-lending company plays a crucial role in optimizing and overseeing the day-to-day operational processes.
  2. This position involves analyzing and improving operational workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the company’s lending operations.

Job Responsibilities
Process Optimization:

  1. Analyze and evaluate operational workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of lending processes.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  1. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  2. Identify and assess operational risks, implementing measures to mitigate these risks.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to lending operations.
  2. Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate key operational metrics to management.

Customer Service Support:

  1. Assist in resolving customer inquiries and issues related to lending operations.
  2. Collaborate with customer service teams to enhance the overall customer experience.

Loan Processing:

  1. Oversee the loan application and approval process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to lending policies.
  2. Work with the underwriting team to assess and verify borrower information.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  1. Maintain accurate and organized records of loan transactions.
  2. Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and internal standards.

Collaboration:

  1. Collaborate with different departments, including finance, compliance, and customer service, to streamline cross-functional processes.
  2. Serve as a liaison between departments to address operational challenges and implement solutions.

System Integration:

  1. Work with IT and systems teams to integrate and optimize operational systems.
  2. Provide support for the implementation and maintenance of new software or technologies.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or any other
  2. Proven experience in operations analysis, process improvement, or a related role in the lending industry.
  3. Knowledge of micro-lending operations, short-term finance, and SME lending.
  4. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the micro-lending industry.
  5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and operational software.
  9. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.

Job Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in operations analysis or a similar role in the micro-lending or financial industry.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and optimizing operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with risk management practices and compliance requirements in micro-lending.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Comprehensive understanding of operational processes in micro-lending, short-term finance, and SME lending.
  2. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and risk management in micro-lending.
  4. Strong organizational and project management skills.
