Job Position: IP Operations Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical support for corporate clients.
  2. Design implements and support IT, Security and Network Solutions for corporate clients.
  3. Troubleshoot Core network problems.
  4. Upgrade core network equipment and configuration.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Report to the Head of Department.
  2. Responsible for all assigned equipment to his team.
  3. Should maintain a high level of personal responsibility in order to be an example to his colleagues.
  4. Abide and apply the rules and regulations of the department and the company as a whole.
  5. Responsible for achieving any assignment given by his Manager
  6. Keeping up to date with departmental and company notification via Emails, Notice board and other mediums
  7. Keeps himself up-to-date with the technologies required by companies.
  8. High ability and readiness for any kind of urgent intervention at client sites to meet SLAs.

Job Requirements

  1. BSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Communication Engineering or Telecom.

Certifications:

  1. CCNA is a must.
  2. CCNP is preferable.

Experience:

  1. At least 3 years proven hands-on experience in network engineering

Language Qualifications:

  1. Good verbal and writing skills in English are mandatory.

Technical Skills:

  1. In depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack
  2. Configuration and maintenance of network equipment including routers, switches, Firewalls
  3. Experience in Mikrotik and cisco devices configuration
  4. Solid Understanding of Layer 3 technologies (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP..) and layer 2 technologies(VLAN, trunks, STP..)
  5. Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  6. Good Knowledge in Unix Servers (Redhat, Centos, and Debian…)
  7. Ability to understand and work on new technologies and to quickly adopt to equipment made by different vendors.
  8. Ability to design topologies and provide consultancy for corporate customers.
  9. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  10. LAC/LNS Implementation and troubleshooting knowledge.
  11. MPLS L2VPNs, L3VPNs and VPLS knowledge is a plus.
  12. Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls configuration and maintenance is a plus.

  4. Knowledge sharing.
  5. Communications skills, both verbal and written.
