Job Position: Pharmacist
Location: Egbeda, Lagos

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing professional advice on drug use, and ensuring full compliance with pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a passion for patient care within a fast-paced retail or healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Dispense prescription and non-prescription medications accurately.
  2. Counsel patients on proper medication use, possible side effects, and interactions.
  3. Maintain up-to-date patient medication records.
  4. Supervise and train pharmacy technicians or interns as needed.
  5. Ensure proper storage, security, and handling of all pharmaceutical products.
  6. Monitor stock levels and place orders for replenishment as required.
  7. Conduct regular checks to ensure drugs are within expiry and properly labelled.
  8. Comply with all relevant laws and ethical standards of pharmacy practice.
  9. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment outcomes.
  10. Participate in inventory audits and documentation.
  11. Promote health and wellness awareness through patient education.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D).
  2. Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy.
  3. Must be fully registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) with a valid practising license.
  4. Strong understanding of drug interactions, side effects, and dosage administration.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software is an advantage.
