Job Position: Planning Engineer

Job Location: Oregun, Lagos

Responsibilities

  1. In association with MM/MC, prepare a maintenance strategy for the business unit and be responsible for execution of same.
  2. Develop and ensure execution of maintenance activity plans.
  3. Create job orders, schedule, and allocate maintenance work for plant or part of as assigned.
  4. In tandem with maintenance controller, control scheduled maintenance activities on the lines or utilities.
  5. Determine and arrange resources such as spares, tools and other materials as may be required for maintenance tasks.
  6. Recommended maintenance mix and schedule improvements based on status reports of executed maintenance schedules.
  7. Manage performance of business unit, self, and all other engineering maintenance staff.
  8. Custodian of all engineering maintenance records including staff related matters.
  9. Staff development actions including skill gap analysis, tools analysis, training plans etc.
  10. Budget preparation, implementation, and cost monitoring.
  11. Be the driver for process and equipment improvements using available improvement tools such as RCM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizens etc. to improve performance.
  12. Responsible for standards development, publishing, and compliance (engineering, health, environment, safety, quality, and any other regulations that could affect engineering maintenance operations.
  13. Responsible for maintenance information systems management including preparation of visual intrusions and other displays as required.
  14. EM/FUE report preparations including but not limited to the end of week, or month or year management review templates, meeting minutes etc.
  15. Measures/evaluates equipment efficiencies, downtime and assists in development of maintenance requirements – i.e., RCM implementation – until effective hand over to final user.
  16. Any other tasks as may be assigned to him/her by line manager.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent certificate (HND).
  • 5 years’ experience in a technical position, most of which should have been a shop floor role.
  • Excellent degree of computer literacy especially MS Excel and ppt.
  • Good command of the English Language-Spoken and written.
  • Proven familiarity with budgeting procedures.
  • Significant experience with a measure of cost reduction initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding and experience of current manufacturing methodologies.
  • Good experience with all or SAP PM, Orion, Fixx or any other ERP systems.
  • Good understanding of plant HQSE modalities and codes.
  • Good oral communication, influencing and relationship skills.
  • Good analytical skills
