Job Position: Procurement Specialist / Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. The PS/PE ensures scheduling and integration of the procurement of materials and services for the project.
  2. Ensures that the cost, time, quality, health and safety objectives set for the phase/activities assigned are achieved to meet the contractual obligations and objectives set by the E&C Business Unit and help achieve the overall objectives for the project managed by the Project Director.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Participating in project planning and scheduling.
  2. Ensuring the definition of procurement procedures for the project is in line with the body of Corporate and Company procedures in force.
  3. Ensuring analysis of project purchasing requirements, definition of general purchasing conditions, preparation of materials and services purchasing plan, ensuring: a constant interface with the Engineering, Post Order Services and Management and Construction functions, traceability of the decision-making process, timely identification of critical supplies and reference markets, formulation of the project Vendor List and Invitation to Tender plan and definition of the use of pre-agreements, Project Agreements and Master Agreements
  4. Ensuring, in liaison with the Procurement function, coherence of strategic “sourcing” decisions with project requirements.
  5. Ensuring direct performance of purchasing activities under the mandates received or liaising with personnel in the competent Procurement function responsible for purchasing in order to ensure that the procurement requirements relating to the specific project are met.
  6. Ensuring compliance with administrative, insurance and legislative requirements, in liaison with the competent Company Departments/other project positions.
  7. Ensuring the “reporting” of the procurement activities to the project organization positions involved, the Area Corporate Procurement Coordination function and the Client.
  8. Ensuring, in close collaboration with the competent Procurement function and with the MM, the application of penalties to Suppliers and price revisions, according to the clauses and formulae provided by the contractual obligations defined for purchasing goods and transport services.
  9. Ensuring that the pertinent HSE clauses/requirements are included in the procurement documents.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics or any related field
  • 5 – 7 years cognate experience in related industry.
  • 3 – 5 years on the job experience.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Technical capability and understanding • Environmental/Industry analysis.
