Job Description
- The Procurement Lead will oversee the company’s sourcing capabilities and supply chain. He/she is responsible for finding and evaluating suppliers, products and services, negotiating contracts and acquiring the most cost-efficient deals without compromising on quality.
- He/she should be a supply chain and logistics expert who will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the company.
- Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of the main priorities when carrying out this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs and ensure clarity of specifications and expectations of the company.
- Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management.
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
- Managing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the organization.
- Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
- Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration with 5-7 years experience
- Proven experience managing supply chain operations in the oil & gas space.
- Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Odoo, Oracle, SAP Ariba, NETSUITE, e.t.c.
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Management and leadership skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- High-level of attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
Salary
N600,000 – N800,000 / Month.
