Job Position: Procurement Officer

Job Location: Ibadan, Nigeria

Job Description
The Procurement Officer’s responsibilities including supervising staff, maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases and maintaining accurate records.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  2. Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  3. Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
  4. Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  5. Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  6. Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  7. Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, among others.
  8. Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  9. Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  10. Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
  11. Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality.

Job Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, Business Management or a similar field preferred
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Computer literacy qualification is essential. Proven ability to utilize and develop computerized spreadsheets and word processing applications
  • Procurement Software and Asset Software experience
