Job Position: Production Manager
Location: Shagamu, Ogun

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all daily production operations within the manufacturing facility.

This role ensures that production targets are met efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The position requires strategic planning, people management, process optimisation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet operational targets and delivery timelines.
  2. Develop and implement production schedules and workflows to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  3. Monitor production shift output, identify variances, and take corrective action where necessary.
  4. Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
  5. Manage resource allocation, including labour, materials, and equipment for optimal production output.
  6. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery is maintained, serviced, and operational.
  7. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
  8. Ensure production teams are well-trained, motivated, and aligned with company goals.
  9. Track and analyse key performance metrics (OEE, downtime, yield, and scrap rate).
  10. Prepare production reports, cost analyses, and performance summaries for management review.
  11. Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency.
  12. Work closely with HR on staffing, performance management, and training initiatives.
  13. Enforce company policies, HSE and workplace discipline across production units.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  2. Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in production or manufacturing management within construction or industrial environments.
  3. Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and quality systems.
  4. Proven track record in leading large operational teams and improving plant efficiency.
  5. Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma techniques.
  6. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Salary
N600,000 – N800,000 / month.
