Job Position: Production Manager
Location: Amuwo Odofin, Lagos
Job Description
Ensuring compliance to manufacturing processes and procedures of the company with the objective of achieving key performance indicators in collaboration with all stakeholders by constantly developing, planning, and implementing operational excellence and training of plant personnel.
Job Deliverables
Production Planning & Execution:
- Planning to deliver the sales demand, ensuring effective utilisation of assets at an optimum cost of operations
- Liaison with central and local procurement for effective planning of raw and packing materials, ensuring availability, as well as monitoring inventory norms
- Analyse breakdowns and implement corrective measures to improve OEE
- Lead the AM Pillar team in WCM/Operational Excellence and support other pillars on production-related requirements
- Control over warehouses for raw & packing materials and finished goods
- Ensure compliance with Safety and Food Safety requirements from the manufacturing function
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements
- Review and monitor operating budgets
Managing Talent:
- Develop and train the team to improve the effectiveness of implementation of best/ next practices in the area of work.
- Identify training needs of team members to enhance skills and develop/maintain a motivated team.
Driving cost culture and value delivery:
- Review the requirements of production consumables and ensure availability
- Review the cost of production consumables and ensure adherence to budgets
Projects:
- Selection of Capacity, Capability, Appropriate Technology, Energy requirements, etc, for Opex and Capex Projects along with the Engineering team as and when required
- Execute the implementation of projects within timelines and cost, with the support of the Engineering Team.
- Assist in the commissioning and start-up of new projects.
Requirements
- BE/B. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production Engineering from a reputed institute
- 10+ years of experience in FMCG companies of repute, preferably bottling/aseptic dairy products, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as Head of Manufacturing/Production department
- Experience in managing high-speed PET bottling lines and Tetrapak lines
- A hands-on experience of implementing TPM or WCM/Operational Excellence is a must. Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma would be an added advantage.
- Experience in managing the production function of a bottling plant, preferably aseptic dairy technology with Tetrapak and Sidel bottling lines
- Strong people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Good negotiation skills.
