Job Description
- Our Client, a manufacturing company in Nigeria seeks to fill the position of a Production Manager, to manage the technical operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities, processes, and procedures to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with company and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement best practice production strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance
- Knowledge of any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Ensures the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis
- Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers to ensure production targets are met
- Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis
- Assesses project scope, resource requirements and oversees the production processes
- Analyses production budgets, control costs, and identify/rectify waste measures.
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and ensures workers’ adherence to health and safety regulations and quality control standards
- Oversees all technical and production activities including logistics, warehousing, and stock of raw materials used in production.
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
- Negotiates and agree on production budgets and time scales with clients and managers
- Develop strategies to expand production activities and business revenue growth
- Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required
- Organizes relevant training workshops to develop or enhance workers’ technical and knowledge
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or any related discipline
- Advanced degrees and/or certifications such as OSHA, IOSH, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 would be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in manufacturing operations.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in management functions.
- Technical knowledge of production operations and processes within the company
- Customer-centricStrong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills.
