Job Position: Project Manager (Gas Pipeline)

Job Location: Abuja

Job Description

  1. Ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company, commercial requirements.
  2. Project performance with regards to quality, safety, health, environment and safety (QHSES).
  3. Safeguarding client’s and company’s interests.
  4. Setting-up and leading project team.
  5. Coaching and supervising project team members.
  6. Liaising with Procurement Coordinators.
  7. Planning of project resources.
  8. Ensuring that project activities are performed in accordance with Company Management System (CMS).
  9. Project reporting during preparation phase (engineering budget, progress and technical).
  10. Monitoring the technical, operational, QHSES, financial performance and intervene when required.
  11. Management of installation and construction subcontractors.
  12. Identification and reporting of project related areas of concern to Project Manager.
  13. Project close-out and evaluation, including proposing follow-up actions.
  14. Stimulating and realising optimisation and improvements in his area of responsibility.
  15. Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  16. Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  17. Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  18. Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  19. Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  20. Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  21. Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.
  22. Identifying and developing new opportunities with clients.
  23. Obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  24. Managing stakeholder satisfaction within the project transition period.
  25. Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in managing EPCIC projects.
  2. A working knowledge of all of the following disciplines: DED, Welding, NDT, Pre-commissioning, Field Joint Coating, Survey and other relevant disciplines.
  3. Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in strategy/schedule development.
  4. Excellent stakeholder and internal communication skills.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  7. Capable to motivate and manage people.
  8. Independent and stress resistant.
  9. People management.
  10. Prepared to travel and work irregular hours.
