Job Position: Quality Control Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to oversee and implement quality assurance protocols across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in quality management systems, with preferred experience in the oil and gas industry. This role is critical to maintaining regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and product integrity.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, review, and audit quality policy, objectives, strategies, project plans, inspection testing plans, and procedures to ensure compliance with the regulatory standards and ISO 9001:2015 edition.
- Oversees, manages and controls the implementation of M&T’s Quality Assurance Management System (QAMS) for full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 edition.
- Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to monitor and assess the quality of products or services.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, tests, and checks on materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Identify and address deviations from quality standards and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.
- Investigate and determine the root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Product Assurance
- Monitors the Quality of Raw Materials and Production Processes to ensure that high-quality services are always rendered
- Ensures the adequacy of Laboratory Equipment and Ancillary Facilities in the Department
- Monitors Competitors’ services and customers ’ perception of the Company’s services, liaising with the Operations Department to make sure that the Company maintains its Quality Advantage
- Follows up on Customer Quality Complaints and advises Management on such issues and appropriate steps to be taken
- Monitors the Company’s operations to make sure that they meet customers’ Quality Specification
- Periodic auditing of the quality management system
- Executes other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director
Auditing and Compliance:
- Perform audits of processes, procedures, and systems to verify compliance with quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate records of audit findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure the organisation’s adherence to relevant quality and safety standards.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive quality reports, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and recommendations for management review.
Training and Education:
- Provide training to employees on quality control procedures, best practices, and relevant regulations
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality control processes, procedures, audits, and corrective actions.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is accessible for regulatory inspections and audits.
HSE:
- Participation in Safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Adherence to health and safety regulations and internal policies
- Attendance at Health and Safety trainings organised by the company
- Carry out duties in line with the company’s HSE policy and principles
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Engineering, Science) or equivalent qualification.
- 7-10 years of experience in quality control or a related field, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards relevant to the oil and gas and energy industry – DPR, Factory Act, ASME, ASTM, API, BS, EN, ISO, etc
- Familiarity with quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and their implementation.
- A Lead Auditor Certificate or an ISO training certificate is often preferred.
- Experience in the oil $ gas sector is a must.
