Job Position: Quantity Surveyor

Job Location: Lekki Phase I, Lagos

Job Description

  1. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  2. Undertake cost analysis for repairs, maintenance and project work
  3. Assist in establishing organisation’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  4. Perform risk, value management and cost control
  5. Advise on a materials procurement strategy
  6. Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  7. Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
  8. Provide advice on contractual claims
  9. Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  10. Value completed work and arrange payments
  11. Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  12. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Job Requirements
Experience:

  • In-depth experience of Quantity Surveying work, associated procedures and practices, preferably in a large public/private sector organisation. Demonstrable experience in the following areas;
  • Project management Budget management Construction procurement Collaborative/partnership

Numeracy:

  1. Able to understanding and adhere to complex regulations and procedures and to effectively assimilate procedural and technical detail. – CRITICAL
  2. A good working knowledge of MS Excel
  3. Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  4. Team working
  5. The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people;
  6. Able to consult, negotiate, influence and persuade a wide range of people. – CRITICAL
  7. Attention to detail and practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking – CRITICAL.
