Job Position: Reconciliation Officer
Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Description
- The Officer will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of transactions reconciled from bank statements to portfolios, and third-party clients on core applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Daily and monthly bank reconciliation
- Intercompany Reconciliation
- General ledger reconciliations
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports
- Reconciling payments to ensure the accounting system reflects the correct transactions
- Reconcile discrepancies in different accounts
- The ability to identify the root cause of any discrepancies and take the right action to eliminate them to prevent further variances.
- Continuously implement ways to improve reconciliation processes and controls.
- Stakeholder interactions and regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve any daily or month-end queries
- Supporting the month-end process
- Adhere to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities
Job Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or any related Degree.
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
- Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills and presentation skills
- Ability to manage relationships across diverse groups of people
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and function in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
- Must be a professional individual with strong time management skills
- Self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement and excellence
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with stress in a coordinated and rational manner.
- Ability to identify errors
- Must have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across a variety of business processes
- Appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Ability to work to deadlines
- High level of attention to details.
