Job Description
- The role holder will serve as a leader driving business from regional Opcos against the targeted local, regional, and international wholesale customers.
- Type of customers are Mobile Operators, Carriers and ISPs.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving revenue targets as per Wholesale business objectives of the region and developing strong relationships with the customers at Key decision maker’s level.
- Development of a sales pipeline for each Opco and proactively track and manage the
- performance of the Opcos assigned.
- Identify growth opportunities, up-selling and cross – selling potential within the assigned Opcos.
- Provide leadership for customers in understanding business objectives and recommend business solutions to achieve those goals.
- Position international submarine capacity and terrestrial fiber capacity to generate revenues in line with wholesale services.
- Business owner of the accounts, responsible for understanding and anticipating customer requirement, mapping competition and positioning Airtel Africa Wholesale Services as the preferred service provider for the account.
- Identify and analyze customer needs and requirements and develop responsive solutions, value propositions.
- Manage relationships with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders to meet the needs of the business.
- Weekly reports on Opco performance and Monthly review to drive sales and pipeline outlook.
Job Requirements
- A recognized University Degree in a Business-related field; Master of Business Administration Degree is an added advantage.
- Understanding of geography and network is a must with sound knowledge of wholesale services like IPLC, MPLS, IP Transit, etc.
- 7-8 years work experience in the telecommunications sector which must include establishing and managing international carriers.
- At least 5 years sales experience in selling B2B Telecom products.
- Strong relationship-building and customer retention skills.
- Ability to inspire and manage a sales team.
