Job Position: Research Support Officer (Data Management)
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 2-year renewable contract

Job Responsibilities
Field Research Support:

  1. Assist in implementing research protocols and surveys.
  2. Conduct field visits for data collection, farmer interviews, and sample gathering.
  3. Support livestock trials and demonstrations.

Data Management:

  1. Enter and clean data using appropriate software (e.g. Excel, Kobo Toolbox, SPSS).
  2. Maintain accurate records of field activities and observations.
  3. Assist in basic data analysis and reporting.
  4. Develop and manage databases for research and operational data.
  5. Ensure data quality through validation, cleaning, and standardisation processes.
  6. Support data collection protocols and tools for field and lab activities.
  7. Provide technical support for data analysis and visualisation.
  8.  Maintain data security and confidentiality in line with ILRI policies.
  9. Train staff and partners on data management best practices and surveys.
  10. Contribute to publications and presentations through data support.

Logistical Support:

  1. Assist in organising logistics, including transport and materials.
  2. Support procurement and inventory of field supplies.
  3. Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  1. HND / BSC in Agricultural Extension, Business Administration or any other related course of study.
  2. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

  2. Have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive research information.
  3. Be highly proactive.
  4. Have experience in Research research-related field.
  5. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to work in a diverse research environment.
