Job Position: Retail Station Manager
Location: North / South Region, Nigeria

Job Description

To oversee the complete operations of a high-volume retail fuel station, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and profitability while leading a team of retail associates.

Job Responsibilities
Operations Management:

  1. Manage and oversee daily retail station operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  2. Ensure 100% product availability (fuel, lubricants, LPG) with proper inventory management.
  3. Implement visual merchandising standards for the convenience store.
  4. Oversee equipment maintenance (dispensers, tanks, POS systems).
  5. Manage shift scheduling for 24/7 operations.

Financial Performance:

  1. Achieve monthly sales targets for fuel and non-fuel products.
  2. Control operational costs (energy, shrinkage, labour) within budget.
  3. Daily cash management and banking procedures.
  4. Analyse sales reports to identify growth opportunities.
  5. Team Leadership:
  6. Recruit, train, and supervise station attendants (10-15 staff).
  7. Conduct weekly team meetings and performance reviews.
  8. Implement incentive programs to drive sales performance.

Customer Service:

  1. Maintain NPS (Net Promoter Score) above industry benchmark.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service, including customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Implement loyalty programs and promotions.

HSSE Compliance:

  1. Enforce strict safety protocols (fuel handling, fire prevention).
  2. Conduct monthly safety drills and equipment checks.
  3. Ensure full compliance with DPR, SON, and environmental regulations.

Site Maintenance:

  1. Maintain impeccable station cleanliness (forecourt, shops, restrooms).
  2. Oversee landscaping and exterior appearance.
  3. Manage third-party vendors (cleaning, security).

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in retail management (fuel station preferred).

Experience:

  1. Experience in the oil and gas sector.
  2. POS and inventory management systems proficiency.
  3. Computer literate in Word, Excel, Office Outlook, and Financial Software. Skills:
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  5. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  6. Problem-solving skills.
  7. Financial literacy (P&L understanding).
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. HSSE certification (mandatory). Performance Metrics
  10. Fuel volume throughput (Monthly).
  11. Non-fuel revenue contribution.
  12. Shrinkage control (90%).
  13. Safety audit results.
