Job Description
- The Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales and providing excellent customer service within the pet store. This role involves engaging with customers, understanding their needs, recommending suitable products and services, and contributing to the store’s overall sales objectives. The Sales Executive will work closely with the Sales Manager and other team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for pet owners.
Job Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Service:
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services, including pet supplies, grooming, boarding, and veterinary care.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall store sales goals.
- Provide detailed product information and answer customer questions regarding pet care and products.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities.
Product Knowledge:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products and services offered by the store.
- Stay updated on new products, promotions, and industry trends.
- Educate customers on pet care best practices and product benefits.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing inventory levels, including restocking shelves and organizing product displays.
- Monitor product availability and inform the Sales Manager of any stock shortages or reorder needs.
- Help with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records.
Store Operations:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Assist with merchandising and creating attractive product displays.
- Follow store policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Collect and utilize customer feedback to improve the shopping experience.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Sales Manager, Vet Doctor, Groomer, and Cleaners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve store performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support team members during busy periods and collaborate on special projects or promotions.
Job Requirements
- BSc or equivalent; a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in the pet care industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and meet customer needs.
- Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of pet products and care is highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions:
- Retail store environment with regular interaction with customers and staff.
Salary
- N75,000 – N100,000 monthly.
