Job Position: Sales Intern

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  • Interns will be assigned a range of tasks based on their area of interest and expertise. Responsibilities may include:
  • Assist in identifying new distribution channels (online platforms, bookstores, libraries, schools, etc.) and retail partners for book sales.
  • Help track and report on sales performance, including analyzing sales data and compiling sales reports to present to the sales team.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers about product availability, pricing, and promotions.

Job Requirements

  • Applicants should have completed a Degree or qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Literature, Communications, Marketing, Design, etc.), or Demonstrate equivalent interest or experience in publishing.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Demographics: Open to applicants from African and Afro-diasporic backgrounds.
  • Experience: No prior experience required. However, a strong interest in publishing or any relevant industry (literary, design, marketing, etc.) is preferred.
  • Location: The programme is open to candidates based in the aforementioned cities.

Interns are expected to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a particular emphasis on clarity and professionalism.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with accuracy and precision, particularly when reviewing texts, marketing materials, or visual content.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting, showing initiative and contributing to collective goals.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle shifting priorities.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines consistently, particularly when working independently.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools. Familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), content management systems, or social media platforms is a plus, depending on the internship focus.
