Job Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Lekki Phase 1 (Admiralty Road), Lagos

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of the company’s financial books.

The role requires advanced expertise in accounting, company valuation, and financial reporting in line with IFRS, as well as practical knowledge of cross-border payments and FX services.

The Senior Accountant will be instrumental in positioning Clearer for a successful listing and supporting its growth in international financial operations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop, review, and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards.
  2. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  3. Design and maintain accounting systems that support cross-border payments and FX services, ensuring proper reconciliation and compliance.
  4. Monitor, record, and reconcile foreign currency transactions and ensure accuracy in FX reporting.
  5. Conduct company valuation, financial modelling, and due diligence in preparation for a potential listing.
  6. Establish strong internal controls and risk management processes for international transactions.
  7. Liaise with auditors, regulators, banks, and FX service providers to ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
  8. Provide financial insights and guidance to management on liquidity, FX exposure, and international transactions.
  9. Support IPO readiness activities, including audit, disclosures, and financial governance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  2. Professional certification, such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA (mandatory).
  3. 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  4. Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and capital market requirements.
  5. Proven expertise in cross-border payments, foreign exchange services, and FX accounting.
  6. Experience in company valuation, financial modelling, and preparation for listing.
  7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  8. High integrity, detail orientation, and ability to work under pressure.
