Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. We are looking for a diligent financial accountant to be responsible for supporting decision-making and overseeing of financial information.
  2. The candidate will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of an organisation.
  3. The right candidate will assist in analysing the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and operational decisions.
  4. The Candidate will report on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
  2. Tax reporting and inventory records tracking
  3. Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
  4. Creating KPI reports for the department.
  5. Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
  6. Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  7. Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
  8. Conducting internal audits such as wage review and others
  9. Examining financial records to check for accuracy.
  10. Managing and training staff when necessary

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree
  2. The Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in the financial field/Auditing in the following subjects should be highlighted as particularly advantageous:
    • Accountancy
    • Finance
    • Business Administration.

Qualities:

  1. An analytical mind
  2. Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
  3. Commercial and business awareness
  4. Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  5. A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
  6. Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints.
  7. Professional qualification will be an added advantage.

Reporting:

  • The Candidate will be reporting to the Finance Director.
