Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization
  2. Handle payroll functions as required by the organization
  3. Assist in the preparation of tax documents for employees
  4. Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  5. Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
  6. Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
  7. Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
  8. Monitor and maintain a new audit system by implementing new policies and procedures in the finance department
  9. Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and non-profit tax filing
  10. Play a vital part in the company’s financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
  11. Involvement in business registration, tax compliance and creating, distributing, and reporting tax datasheets

Job Requirement

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 – 6 years work experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role and supervise up to ten junior-level subordinates
  3. Required knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Paychex, Metro, and other applications related to finance and accounting
  4. Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
  5. Thorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policies
  6. Strong understanding of mathematics
  7. Excellent time management and ability to meet constant deadlines
  8. Knowledgeable in financial computer software
  9. Good delegation skills
  10. Accounting knowledge
  11. Detail orientation
  12. Proficiency in Excel
  13. Accreditation through CPA
  14. A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
  15. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  16. Good time-management skills
  17. Great interpersonal and communication skills.
