Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Descriptions

  1. We are looking for a self-driven and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team of achievers and ensure we are up to date with the required financial information as a leading organisation in the QSR industry.
  2. You will be a leader in a fast-paced environment that ensures that our accounts and financial records meet standards and all criteria.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Monitors all transactions (inflow and outflow) for the company, validates and scrutinises
  2. Maintains a book of receipts for all cash outflows
  3. Provides financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data; preparing reports.
  4. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
  5. Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  6. Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
  7. Summarises current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  8. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  9. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  10. Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  11. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
  12. Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  13. Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  14. Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  15. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  16. Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  17. Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends.
  18. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a B.Sc. degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field with 5-11 years of experience
  2. Relevant certification or a Master’s degree is a plus
  3. Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
  4. Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  5. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  6. Awareness of business trends
  7. Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  8. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  9. Hands-on experiences with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  10. Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
  11. Accuracy and attention to detail
  12. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Compensation

  1. N450,000 – N500,000 / Month
