HR-Aid Consults – Our client, an IT firm, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Senior Accountant / Financial Controller
Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Control & Reporting:

  1. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  2. Lead the preparation and timely submission of financial statements, including:
  3. Management accounts (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

CBN/Regulatory returns:

  1. Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
  2. Develop, monitor, and analyse budgets and financial performance. Conduct variance analyses and provide actionable insights.
  3. Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts to support liquidity and funding needs.
  4. Manage tax planning, computation, remittance, and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.).

 Compliance & Internal Controls:

  1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including CBN guidelines, FIRS requirements, and IFRS standards.
  2. Establish and maintain robust internal control systems, policies, and procedures.
  3. Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax consultants.
  4. Ensure proper record-keeping, audit readiness, and risk mitigation.

  Portfolio & Credit Oversight (Supporting COO):

  1. Collaborate with the credit and risk teams to ensure quality loan underwriting, sound credit decisioning, and portfolio monitoring.
  2. Monitor credit performance and analyse delinquencies; support recovery efforts and portfolio remedial actions.
  3. Conduct periodic loan book and collateral reviews to ensure compliance with facility agreements.
  4. Support the COO in credit risk evaluation and monthly risk asset meetings.

 Strategic Financial Advisory:

  1. Provide insights and recommendations to support the company’s financial strategy, investment decisions, and operational improvements.
  2. Drive automation and digital transformation in the finance department.
  3. Track key financial metrics and performance indicators to support business goals.
  4. Assist in capital raising, investor relations, and business expansion strategies when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  1.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)
  2. Qualified Accountant (ICAN/ACCA) – required
  3.  Minimum of 7–10 years progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a financial services or lending institution
  4.  Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, tax, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting
  5.  Strong understanding of credit risk, loan operations, and treasury management
  6.  Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books) and advanced Excel skills
  7.  Familiarity with Nigerian tax laws and CBN regulatory guidelines

Salary
N700,000 – N800,000 per month.
