Job Position: Senior Analytics Engineer

Job Description

  2. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics department.

Team Focused

  1. You will be working in a small 3 or 4 person team role focused on Dimensional Data modelling, Data Engineering, Business and Product Optimization, Cloud Platform Utilization and Data Management.
  2. You will collaborate primarily with cross-functional product teams with some additional internal business units to gather requirements, understand business needs, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
  3. This is a low ego creative environment where careers can thrive.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Your day-to-day work will include building easy to understand and consistently modelled datasets to serve metrics, dashboards and exploratory analysis; including building data transformation pipelines, primarily by using SQL and Python in dbt, and Airflow infrastructure.
  2. We also develop semantic models in Looker, build dashboards and coach users on how to use self-serve capabilities of our platform.
  3. You will be working together with software engineers to ensure that the data necessary for analysis is captured well in our systems.
  4. For us applying best practices is important in order to build reliable, well tested, efficient, documented data assets.

Job Requirements

  1. Strong experience with Python or other language, and SQL
  2. Dimensional data modelling for analytics / data warehouses / big data infrastructures
  3. Experience working with data warehouses technologies, and with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
  4. Experience working with orchestration systems such as airflow
  5. Experience working with dbt will be highly beneficial

Work – Life Balance:

  • This is a remote role in a team that spans from the UK, through Europe to Africa. Work in a similar distributed environment would be ideal.
