Job Position: Senior Backend Developer

Job Description

  1. We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our Services.
  2. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality and scalable solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop robust and scalable backend systems using PHP, MySQL, Node.js, and NoSQL databases.
  2. Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  3. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
  4. Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
  5. Develop and maintain APIs and web services to support front-end functionalities.
  6. Implement security and data protection measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of user information.
  7. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our development stack.
  9. Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow professionally.
  10. Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and maintain applications on cloud platforms, such as AWS or GCP.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on PHP, MySQL, Node.js, and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of frameworks, such as Slim or Express.
  • Proficiency in database design and query optimization using MySQL and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB or Redis.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, like Docker, and experience with container orchestration platforms is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Salary
N500,000 – N550,000 Monthly.
