Job Position: Senior Datacenter Consultant

Job Description

  • As trusted data centre advisors, you will be mainly responsible for supporting clients to navigate the complexity of project planning and delivery for new build facilities and the upgrade or expansion of existing data infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assisting Huawei Southern Africa region customers on Data Center planning, design and implementation, these customers include but not limited to telco operators, colocation providers, governments, banks, etc.
  2. Actively engage with customer CXOs and teams to understand their business requirements and reflect these requirements to demands for ICT infrastructure including the IT, CT (Communication Technology) resources as well as Data Center facilities.
  3. In addition to Data Center global trend and regional market insight, the candidate will also conduct detailed analysis of the existing Data Center of the customer, and provide assessment report, gap analysis and evolution/transformation planning recommendation for customer to consider and adopt.
  4. The candidate will also follow up with customer and Huawei teams to make sure the successful implementation of the Data Center projects (new built or modernization).
  5. Provide in depth analysis of the business strategies and pain points to enable product managers and sales teams to plan requirements accordingly and also to the customers Good understanding of technology road maps and industry trends with emphasis in the telecom and IT industry.
  6. Coordinate support of change management resources in partnership with electrical and mechanical operations teams· Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the region and with peers globally.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommnication or related qualification will be advantageous
  2. More than 10 years of experience involved in a large complex datacenter project
  3. Registration with datacenter institutions will be advantageous
  4. Team, organizational and planning skills, as well as stringent time management skills to balance workloads in a complex and dynamic environment
  5. Proven track record of success in delivering complex projects
  6. Prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product· Ability to consistently deliver results despite competing priorities and distraction
  7. Understanding of critical Electrical, HVAC and control systems· Appropriate Security and Safety awareness· Project Management Experience· Capacity planning and budgetary experience.
