Job Position: Senior Design Engineer
Job Location: Lekki, Lagos
Job Description
- The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing the design and development of construction projects, ensuring that they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
- This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
- The successful candidate will play a critical role in the success of the company’s projects.
Job Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead and manage design teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues.
- Coordinate with other project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and subcontractors.
Design Development:
- Oversee the development of detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Review and approve design changes and modifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
Technical Expertise:
- Possess a deep understanding of construction engineering principles, materials, and methods.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Provide technical advice and support to project teams.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that projects meet the highest standards of quality.
- Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Client Relations:
- Represent the company to clients and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Address client concerns and ensure their satisfaction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a design engineering role within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent technical expertise in construction engineering.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK).
- Knowledge of construction contracts and legal requirements.
- Experience with sustainable design and green building practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary
N800,000 – N1,000,000 Monthly.
