Job Position: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing PalmPay’s cloud and on-premise network infrastructure as well as troubleshooting cloud systems and partners’ networks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex application network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of the network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute channel network migrations, upgrades and expansions.

Job Responsibilities
Cloud and On-prem Network Infrastructure Design and Troubleshooting:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain robust channel/application network infrastructure to support organisational needs.
  2. Conduct regular application/channel network assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
  3. Maintain detailed documentation of Channel network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Cloud Systems Design and Operations (AWS Resources):

  1. Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS services.
  2. Manage and monitor AWS resources, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  3. Provide guidance and support for cloud migration projects, ensuring a smooth transition to or from AWS.

DevOps Tools/Operations and Proxy Configurations with Nginx:

  1. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  2. Configure and optimise Nginx as a reverse/TCP-IP proxy, load balancer, and web server.
  3. Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.

Kubernetes Deployment and Maintenance:

  1. Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters to support containerised applications.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to identify and resolve issues proactively. Implement best practices for Kubernetes security, resource management, and disaster recovery.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of 5 years ‘ experience in a similar role
  2. BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field
  3. Good knowledge of Java
  4. Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation.

 Skills

  1. Containerization tools – Kubernetes & Docker
  2. CI/CD – Jenkins & Gitlab
  3. Cloud – AWS, Ali Cloud (good to have)
  4. Monitoring – Grafana, Zabix, Prometheus
  5. Networking – Fortigate, Cisco & Mikrotik
  6. TCP-IP/Reverse Proxy configuration ——-Nginx
