Job Position: Senior Engineer (Hydropower & Dams)

Job Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities
Company Policies and Values:

Project Delivery & Client Interaction:

  1. Responsible for engineering design input on medium/large projects (and/or assisting with the management of such projects)
  2. Project management and/or integration/coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams
  3. Work delegation, with clear requirements as well as providing guidance and supervision.
  4. Manage input and delivery of sub-consultants within agreed budgets.
  5.  Author competent technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality
  6. Review work and ensure compliance with best practices and project requirements.
  7. Regular client contact and interaction
  8. Presentation of technical work
  9. Identification and following through on business leads.
  10. Prepare successful proposals, including managing of proposal preparation and winning new work to ensure team sustainability.
  11.  Travel within the African regions (East & West Africa) on project assignments

  2. Develop and maintain skills and understanding of technologies and markets.

Job Requirements

  1. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Higher Degree from an accredited university/college.
  2. Should have relevant Professional registration (or in the process of obtaining)
  3. Must have at least a Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  4. Should have a postgraduate degree in a related field (not essential but preferable)
  5. Must know QA and OHS requirements in SMEC.
  6. Must have strong project management skills, including working experience, and be highly proficient in MS project and commercial aspects of project management.
  7. Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (reporting, emails, letters, …) and a good command in English, additional Languages will be an added advantage.
  8. Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  9. Must have the ability to make technical decisions that are outcome driven.
  10. Must have practical knowledge of hydraulics hydrological principles.
  11. Must have the ability to write programs (Python, C, …) or MS Excel macros.
  12. Proficient in the use of MS Office suite (including MS Project)
  13. Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment.
  14. Valid Driver’s Licence (light motor vehicle)
  15. Experience working in several African countries will be an added advantage.
  16. Should have proven technical experience in relevant infrastructure projects (dams/hydropower/water industry) is required.
  17. Should have experience and good capability of using CAD design software (REVIT, Civil3D,)
  18. Must have Knowledge and experience of cloud-based software packages such as Autodesk Construction BIM platforms for integration of technical delivery teams in different geographic locations.
