Job Position: Senior Executive – Human Resources (HR) & Administration
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Summary
The Senior Executive Human Resources will play a pivotal role in overseeing HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, time office management, employee relations, statutory compliance, and leave management.
The individual will ensure smooth HR operations, contribute to employee satisfaction, and support the organisation’s growth while maintaining compliance with Nigerian labour laws.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition – 20%:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment process: job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Develop relationships with recruitment agencies and job portals.
- Coordinate with departments for hiring requirements.
Employee Relations – 15%:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employees.
- Address and resolve employee grievances.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour laws.
Time Office Management – 10%:
- Manage employee attendance records and work hours.
- Ensure accurate tracking of overtime and shift work.
- Address time discrepancies.
Leave & Attendance Management – 10%:
- Administer and track employee leave types (sick leave, annual leave, etc.).
- Maintain and communicate accurate leave balances.
- Ensure compliance with company leave policies.
Payroll Management – 15%:
- Oversee monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate salary disbursements.
- Manage statutory deductions such as taxes, pension, and NHF.
- Resolve employee queries related to pay and benefits.
Performance Management & Appraisal – 10%:
- Develop and implement performance management frameworks.
- Assist department heads in setting performance targets and conducting appraisals.
- Identify areas for employee development and suggest training.
Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws – 10%:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws, including PENCOM, NHF, and tax regulations.
- Keep up to date with changes in labour laws.
- Liaise with legal consultants for complex legal matters.
Training & Development – 5%:
- Identify training needs and coordinate development programs.
- Provide employees with opportunities to develop skills and competencies.
Employee Operations & Benefits – 5%:
- Maintain employee records, attendance, and leave records.
- Administer employee benefits programs (healthcare, insurance, etc.).
- Ensure smooth exit processes for resignations and retirements.
Support Services – 5%:
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and internal communications.
- Collaborate with other departments for HR-related initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate in Business Administration or equivalent
- HND in Human Resources or Public Administration
- Specialisation in Industrial Relations and Labour Laws
- MBA in HR (preferred).
Preferred HR Certifications:
- CIPM (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management)
- SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management)
- HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute)
- NISHRM (Nigeria Institute of Human Resource Management)
- PHRi (Professional in Human Resources International).
Working Knowledge of:
- ESS (Employee Self-Service)
- HRMIS (Human Resource Management Information System)
- Employee Portals (added advantage).
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or corporate setting.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Google Docs, and HRIS systems.
Personal Attributes:
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Able to assess HR issues and provide actionable solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring high accuracy in HR documentation and payroll management.
- Organisational Skills: Effectively managing multiple HR functions and tasks.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Ability to lead and mentor junior HR staff and contribute to team performance.
Salary
N150,000 – N300,000 / Month.
