Job Description
- The Senior General Manager, Mechanical is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within the Dangote Cement Group.
- This position entails developing maintenance strategies, managing mechanical systems, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards across all facilities.
- The role demands a strategic thinker who can lead a team while also being hands-on in solving complex mechanical issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive mechanical maintenance programs
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment
- Manage and lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Monitor performance metrics and optimize operational efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to align mechanical operations with overall business goals
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems and equipment
- Evaluate the need for upgrades and new machinery
- Develop and manage the mechanical maintenance budget
- Provide technical expertise and support on mechanical issues across the organization.
Job Requirements
The following skills and qualifications are required for the position of Senior General Manager, Mechanical:
- B.Sc. / B.Eng. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 26 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and engineering within an industrial setting, with at least 15 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in project management and budget administration.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in mechanical operations.
