Job Position: Senior Golang Developer
Location: Lagos (Remote)

Description

  1. We are currently sourcing for a Senior Go Developer. As a Senior Go Developer, you will lead the design and development of our core microservices ecosystem.
  2. You’ll collaborate closely with our product, design, and QA teams to build resilient, high-performance APIs and services.
  3. Architect, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go (Golang)
  4. Design and implement microservices with a strong focus on scalability and reliability
  5. Optimise performance, memory usage, and concurrency patterns
  6. Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality
  7. Collaborate in code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical discussions
  8. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers on Go best practices
  9. Participate in DevOps activities: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Requirements

  1.  5+ years of professional experience developing applications in Go
  2. Deep understanding of Go idioms, concurrency (goroutines, channels), and memory management
  3. Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services
  4. Strong background with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  5. Hands-on with containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
  6. Solid understanding of version control (Git), agile workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  8. Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

The following will set you apart from other candidates:

  1. Professional experience with Laravel or other PHP frameworks
  2. Background in the fintech or e-commerce domains
  3. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  4. Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS)
  5. Experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger)
