Job Position: Senior I.T Project Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. We are looking for an I.T project manager to be responsible for handling our company’s ongoing projects.
  2. You will be working closely with your team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
  3. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans.
  4. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have proven experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes.
  5. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a huge advantage.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout the entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  2. Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  3. Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  4. Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  5. Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  6. Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  7. Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.
  8. Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Lead / Management
  • Prior Scrum Master experience
  • Experience mentoring, coaching and developing rising talent in the technology department.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies and best practices related to project management.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering project lifecycle operations and procedures, formulating best practices, and developing and implementing new strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Preferred experience with JIRA or other PM tools
  • Demonstrated ability to get buy-in from stakeholders and handle change management while communicating effectively across the organization.
