Job Position: Senior Manager, HR Operations
Location: Mushin, Lagos
Job Purpose
To directly own the entire Human Resources portfolio of the assigned Division and businesses. Responsible for the development and integration of human resource programs and associated projects to achieve the strategic business goals and operational objectives of the assigned business division
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Alignment:
- Develop timely Human Resources processes to comply with changes in Employment Law
- Ensure consistent monitoring, implementation and compliance with labour legislation laws across the Business Division
- Implement a Performance Monitoring System that constantly evaluates the performance contributions of employees to the divisions’ business, and also ensures fairness and performance-based compensation to the employees
- Coordinate organisational staff costs for the annual budget process
- Develop and implement HR metrics that enable informed decisions
Employee Relations:
- Facilitate employee engagement through the communication of incentives and rewards for outstanding employees in the organisation
- Attend to employee welfare issues spanning across HMO, Staff meal, etc.
- Acts as a consultant for the HOD regarding Human Resources issues
- Ensure maintenance of the Human Resources Information System(HRIS)
- Ensure circulation of information regarding relevant changes in policies, transfers, salary review, employee welfare, etc.
- Handle all employee-related activities as they relate to misconduct, poor performance, in line with company policy
- Provide advisory services to supervisors on relevant personnel policies and procedures, and ensure consistent application
- Ensure the conduct of disciplinary matters across the Organisation
- Ensure collaboration with departments to provide support, advice and assistance in resolving conflicts, grievances and ethical issues
Compensation and benefits management:
- Ensure prompt and accurate administration of compensations, rewards and benefits to employees and pensioners
- Ascertain and ensure prompt resolution of staff complaints on compensation, rewards, and benefits
- Ensure compensation reviews based on classification or reclassification of jobs, promotions, etc.
- Ensure cross-checking and reviews of figures before payment of compensations and benefits to ensure accuracy
Operational / Administrative Functions:
- Maintain relations with external stakeholders (i.e. labour authorities, local communities)
- Participate in business review meetings with different business divisions guiding on matters spanning across staff cost and Profit and Loss relations.
- Participate in Ad Hoc meetings for the purpose of implementing initiatives that impact business strategy
- Keep the records, documents and files relating to all staff
- Ensure all due correspondence, memos, reports and certificates are tracked in each employee’s files
- Provide periodic up-to-date reports on key Human Resources metrics and activities as they relate to the business division
Reporting and Supervision:
- Plans, assigns and supervises Human Resources staff
- Implement Human Resources Initiatives and operations
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, review and report on the work of Human Resources staff
- Ensure periodic HR reports/metrics to the Head, Human Resources Services.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of Company Sales, EBITDA, GP, PAT targets
- Achievement of the Human Resources Department’s budget/targets/objectives
- Achievement of Individual Personal Development Plans
Job Specifications
Educational Requirements:
- A good first degree in social /management sciences
- Possession of a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management / Business Administration or a related degree is an added advantage
Professional Requirements:
- Membership of the CIPM, CIPD, HRCI or any other related professional qualification is required.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of working experience in a human resources/administration capacity role.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Understanding of budget, cost and resource management
- Knowledge of the business needs
- Knowledge of skill gaps and competencies
- Understanding of HR policies development and interpretation
- Understanding of Labour /legal issues
- Understanding of employee satisfaction initiatives
- Understanding of QSR ethical and operational laws and guidelines
- Knowledge of manpower planning
- Understanding of the Performance Management System, career management and succession planning
- Understanding of the recruitment, selection, and appointment process.
