Job Position: Senior Manager – Program Support Office, Network
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Mission
- Overseeing and coordinating various aspects of Network Division’s(NWD) business operations, including budgeting, project management, and process improvement.
- Responsible for end-to-end management of the MTN CAPEX program and all activities relating to BOOST from a Network CAPEX perspective.
Description
- Develop NWD program of work (Prioritization and Sequencing of project delivery).
- Develop and manage information relating to LC establishment and PR/PO processing.
- Responsible for process definition, evaluation and enhancement within NID operations as well as collaborating with other departments where departmental process interactions occur.
- Support the shareholders’ return strategy by developing and implementing the division’s processes that are aligned to achieving all elements of the financial component of the business scorecard. (i.e., grow market share, grow ICT and data revenue, increase EBITDA margins, assure revenue, CAPEX returns, and subscriber additions).
- Participate in the review of business processes (headcount, process optimization, etc.) to drive efficiency gains and ensure at least a 5% reduction in the divisional budget year-on-year.
- Participate in contract negotiations to reduce costs and drive MTNN asset optimization efforts.
- Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g., strategic investors, technical and financial partners, business consultants, etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
- Develop MTNN Network Implementation Management Framework policies, guidelines, standards, and controls, ensuring alignment with the relevant corporate regulations and in line with globally recognized professional project management methodologies, i.e., Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Review capital programs and evaluate projects, ensuring alignment with corporate direction and objectives.
- Review resource needs for programs, suggest a financial budget to the head of corporate development, and monitor the approved budget.
- Oversee the NID operations programs, ensuring they are run in accordance with the purpose for which they were set up and in line with associated goals and objectives.
- Create and utilize NID operations and program tracking system and ensure the processes for running NID operations and programs are provided efficiently, economically, and effectively in accordance with defined key performance targets.
- Communicate, track, and evaluate project plans and initiatives to ensure projects and programs are delivered on time, within budget, within scope, and at the expected quality.
- Manage issues and risks by highlighting resource constraints (UAT, IT, user department, training, etc.) between projects and flagging where multiple instances of organizational change will impact operational efficiency.
- Monitor the customer and management satisfaction index.
- Report on various aspects of project progress as required by Network Management, EXCOM, and the Board.
- Review formal internal audit reports and review project process compliance.
- Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.
- Coach and train the departmental team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets and requirements, and regular review of their training needs.
- Review the performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
Education
- First Degree in any related discipline.
- Being fluent in English and the language of the country is preferable.
- MBA (an added advantage).
Experience:
- 9 – 17 years of applicable business experience in telecoms
- A manager’s track record of 3 years or more, with at least 3 years in the relevant sector or industry.
- Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous.
- 5 years in program management, preferably in the telecom environment.
- At least 2 years of business analysis and process definition.
