Job Position: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Surelere, Lagos

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with 5 – 7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Sophos firewalls, along with a strong background in network security, LAN/WAN technologies, and troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
  2. Administer and manage Sophos firewalls, including rule creation, VPN setup, firmware upgrades, logging, and reporting.
  3. Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  4. Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  5. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.
  6. Perform regular network risk assessments and apply mitigation strategies.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new implementations and integrations.
  8. Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
  9. Provide Level 2/3 technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.
  10. Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and backups.

Job Requirements

  1. 5 to 7 years of experience in network engineering or IT infrastructure roles.
  2. Proven expertise with Sophos firewall technologies (XG, XGS series).
  3. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and wireless networking.
  4. Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, PRTG, SolarWinds).
  5. Working knowledge of security best practices, firewall policies, and access controls.
  6. Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  7. Experience with other firewall solutions (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto) is a bonus.
