Job Position: Senior Product Designer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. As a Senior Product Designer, your primary goal is to design products that customers love and help them achieve their goals. This starts from how customers discover our products until everyday use.
  2. By working closely with our customers and cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and scientists, you will drive the design process from translating evidence-based research to concepts and to implementation. This role is crucial in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our products and brand.
  3. In this role, you will report directly to the Product Owner / CEO.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Lead the design of intuitive and user-centred product experiences by conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to inform design decisions
  2. Create high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces that adhere to design best practices and align with the overall product strategy
  3. Leverage different dimensions of interaction design such as aesthetics, motion, sound, space, and many more in our product to help users achieve their objectives
  4. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define design goals, strategies, and roadmaps that align with business objectives
  5. Maintain and evolve our design system to ensure consistency across all product touchpoints and facilitate efficient design workflows
  6. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, advocating for design excellence throughout the product development lifecycle
  7. Rapidly iterate and prototype design solutions to test and validate ideas with users and stakeholders
  8. Gather and incorporate user feedback into design iterations, continuously improving the user experience
  9. Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and industry best practices, and share knowledge within the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a design-related field (e.g., Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work and design process.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining design systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and explain design decisions to non-design stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile or similar development methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
