Job Description
- As the Senior Risk Officer (SRO) for our company, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our risk management strategy.
- You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with our financial products, services, and operations.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the financial industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive risk management initiatives in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Risk Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities of the Fintech industry.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards, staying informed about changes in regulatory requirements and proactively addressing any compliance issues.
- Credit Risk Management: Oversee the credit risk assessment process for our lending and financing products, including underwriting standards, credit scoring models, and portfolio monitoring.
- Market Risk Management: Monitor and manage market risks associated with our investment products and trading activities, including interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, and liquidity risk.
- Operational Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks across all areas of the organization, including technology, cybersecurity, fraud, and third-party vendor relationships.
- Data Security and Privacy: Implement robust data security and privacy controls to protect sensitive customer information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Establish systems and processes to monitor key risk indicators and provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors, highlighting emerging risks and trends.
- Crisis Management: Lead the organization’s response to crisis situations or disruptions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to minimize impact and ensure business continuity.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with regulators, industry associations, and other external stakeholders to enhance the company’s reputation and credibility in risk management practices.
- Talent Development: Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing risk management team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team has the skills and expertise needed to effectively manage risk in a Fintech environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Fintech industry.
- Strong understanding of financial products and services, including lending, payments, investments, and digital banking.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance requirements for Fintech companies, with a track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance risk and reward in a dynamic business environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred.
