Job Position: Social Media Associate

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. The Social Media Associate works closely with the Marketing Coordinators, Merchandise Planners and Brand Managers, and supports the PRL Marketing Team, to raise the PRL profile and contribute creatively to the continued growth and development of the organization.
  2. The Social Media Associate combines marketing and social media management skills to enhance PRL’s social media presence, including interacting with customers, promoting brand-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for revenue.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supports the Marketing Team in marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules
  2. Manages company image through various media in a cohesive way to achieve marketing goals
  3. Streamline company social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms) ensuring uniform content
  4. Performing research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  5. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  6. Manages, and keeps up to date all PRL social media platforms, as well as websites
  7. Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with all Brand Managers and Merchandise Planners
  8. Grows and expands company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  9. Researches and monitors activity of company competitors
  10. Customer engagement with a focus on customer service on company social media accounts
  11. Respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
  12. Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, promotions and competitions
  13. Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  14. Increase organically the number of followers and likes and tangible interactions on company social media accounts
  15. Work with the brand management team to implement mall specific campaigns
  16. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements

  1. A Degree in Marketing (not essential but an advantage)
  2. Essential to have at least 2 years relevant work experience and/or practical experience in the field of Advertising, Sales and Marketing with local Advertising/Marketing Agency.
  3. Strong copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas
  4. An interest in marketing, communications, social media or reputation management.
  5. Familiarity with key social media tools.
