Job Position: Software Development Engineer

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Product Manager to translate product strategy into detailed requirements, prototypes and execution.
  2. Design and implement robust, low-latency, high-availability, and high-performing applications
  3. Create and enhance products that fill a niche in the market.
  4. Manage the process of developing a product, and also enhance existing products in order to meet customer expectations effectively.
  5. Write effective and scalable Python, Java and Deluge codes.
  6. Write reusable, testable, and efficient codes.
  7. Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  8. Integrate data storage solutions that may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
  9. Work with APIs to efficiently add functionality.
  10. Use relevant python frameworks to optimize codes.
  11. Analyze code, requirements, system risks, and software reliability.
  12. Being at the forefront of the creation and maintenance of product documentation.
  13. Perform other related duties as required by the Product Manager.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on building scalable and high-performance applications.
  3. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., low-code, Java, Python, C++, etc.).
  4. Solid understanding of software architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  5. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  8. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  9. Previous work on large-scale distributed systems.
