Job Position: State Business Development Manager
Location: Onitsha, Anambra

Job Description

  1. Our client is a Fintech Microfinance Bank with its head office in Lagos but with robust operations in Onitsha, South East and branches in key cities of Nigeria.
  2. They presently seek to recruit a strategic and result-oriented State Business Development Manager to lead and drive business growth in Anambra State.
  3. The ideal candidate will be responsible for market expansion, revenue growth, key account management and state team leadership.
  4. This role requires a deep understanding of the local market, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that align with company goals.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute the business development strategy for Anambra State in alignment with overall company goals.
  2. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, channels, and partnerships across the state.
  3. Manage and expand a portfolio of key clients and strategic accounts.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local partners, community leaders, and government agencies.
  5. Lead market research and competitor analysis to inform sales strategies.
  6. Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular reports on sales performance and market trends.
  7. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing local sales or agent network (if applicable). Ensure full compliance with regulatory and operational standards across all field activities.
  8. Represent the company at local events, trade shows, and industry forums.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or territory management, preferably within Anambra or the South-East region.
  3. Strong experience in POS terminal transactions, merchant and agency banking.
  4. Must have at least 500 agents, merchants and aggregators to convert within the first 2 weeks.
  5. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.
  6. Strong understanding of the local business environment and customer landscape.
  7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  8. Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
  10. Ability to travel within the state as needed.
  11. Must currently live in Onitsha or Awka

  1. The candidate must be computer literate
  2. Must be passionate about the use of digital platforms.
  3. Analytical and presentational skills.
  4. A very high level of commercial awareness.
  5. Leadership skills.
  6. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  7. Attention to detail.
  8. Fluency in Igbo is a strong advantage.
  9. Experience working in FINTECH, banking sectors is desirable.

Benefits

  1. Salary: N150,000 Monthly.
  2. Incentive: N500k for meeting the POS deployment target
