Job Position: Strategic Information Lead (SI Lead)

Job Locations: Abuja, Nasarawa, and Rivers

Job Description 

  1. The Strategic Information Lead will execute the day-to-day implementation plans, provide technical assistance, mentor facility staff onsite and oversee Data assistants’ activities on ASPIRE project in one of the following states: FCT, Nasarawa, or Rivers.

Job Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation:

  1. Review program data to establish performance and identify bottlenecks in implementation and draw insights for program direction
  2. Coordinate routine program data collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination to guide evidence-based decision making
  3. Coordinate program reporting and updates on implementation progress across key performance indicators to manage expectations
  4. Ensure efficient archiving of program data

Team Leadership / Technical Assistance:

  1. Oversee day-to-day activities of Strategic Information officers;
  2. Coordinate the development of team’s workplan, review, and track team’s daily activities
  3. Organize and facilitate the onboarding of new SI officers, data assistants, and surge monitors
  4. Coordinate routine capacity building for SI officers
  5. Provide technical assistance to SI officers on effective data review, collation, dissemination, utilization, and storage
  6. Coordinate routine technical assistance visits to supported facilities and track support outcomes
  7. Coordinate SI team’s problem-solving and check-in meetings
  8. Coordinate routine program reporting to funder and relevant stakeholders; weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  9. Support team on program strategy design and implementation
  10. Support real-time data utilization for decision-making on the program
  11. Coordinate the utilization of M&E tools and facilitate tool request and allocation to team members
  12. Coordinate routine Data Quality Assessment exercise, analysis, and report dissemination for intervention planning
  13. Evaluate Strategic Information officers’ performance with constructive feedback on better performance and support plan to achieving agreed milestones.

Stakeholders’ Engagement:

  1. Coordinate discussion document development for program review meetings and other stakeholders’ engagements.
  2. Participate in program review meetings, other stakeholders’ engagements and coordinate participation of team members.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in joint, cluster, and partner problem-solving and learning sessions to share knowledge, best practices, challenges, and progress on program implementation.
  2. Engage actively with relevant stakeholders to foster good relationship with the organization.
  3. Support any other tasks as may be required by the Program Manager and Project Director.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:

  1. Academic training: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Monitoring & Evaluation, Demography, Biostatistics, Statistics, Analytics, Science / Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  1. Experience in USG-funded programs designing, establishing, and managing M&E systems, ensuring data quality, and managing M&E systems.
  2. Previous experience conducting State/LGA and Facility data assessments and data reviews.

Core Requirements:

  1. Compelling evidence of interest in and commitment to the mission of SCIDaR;
  2. Working knowledge of Nigeria’s health and social service information systems and M&E processes as it relates to data collection for performance-based reporting with understanding, experience, and competency in working with OVC and HIV community-led organizations;
  3. Strong data analytics with proficiency in statistical package (Advanced Excel), Microsoft Offices, visualization, and presentation skills;
  4. Excellent understanding of PEPFAR MER and OVC indicators, data collection methodology, and data quality issues;
  5. Ability to develop indicators and data collection tools and assess data quality;
  6. Proficiency in the use of diverse databases including DHIS, DATIM, NMRS, ACCESS, and knowledge of relevant database query languages;
  7. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint for data visualization and presentation;
  8. Strong communication skills (written, and verbal).
