Job Position: Tax Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant filings.
  2. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations for compliance.

Accounts Payable:

  1. Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  2. Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to address payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Financial Analysis:

  1. Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency improvements.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information for tax planning and reporting.

Audits and Reviews:

  1. Manage tax-related audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
  2. Conduct internal reviews to identify and address potential tax and payable-related issues and risks.

Tax Planning:

  1. Develop and implement tax planning strategies in coordination with payable processes to optimize the company’s financial position.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align tax planning and payable activities with overall business objectives.

Reporting:

  1. Generate accurate and timely tax and payable reports for management and external stakeholders.
  2. Ensure compliance with international reporting standards.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience in tax accounting and payable functions, preferably in a telecommunications or related industry.
  3. CPA certification preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations.
  5. Experience with payable processes and financial systems.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
